To ask the Cabinet Member to consider a
petition requesting improvements to allow for pedestrians and other
vulnerable road users to safely cross the A608 Main Road, Morley at
the Derby College Campus site and to ask for a footbridge over the
A608, to provide a safer route across the road for
pedestrians.
Following consideration of this report, the Cabinet Member is asked
to decline the request for additional safety measures on the A608
and the request for a pedestrian footbridge to be installed.

To ensure the sustainability of Adult Social
Care support now and in the future, approval will be sought to
publicly consult on a redesign of the current Council owned direct
care offer of five short stay residential homes and four
building-based day centres for people with a learning disability
and/or who are autistic.
Adult Social Care will seek to ensure that any proposals made for
the redesign of the direct care services offer includes a
enablement, reablement and progression emphasis to enable people to
plan for their future and to be supported to become as independent
as they are able to be, with the aim of improving outcomes for
local residents and ensuring the most efficient use of public
money.

1) Agree to accept the additional Government’s Stopping the Start funding of £1,083,451 for stop smoking services in Derbyshire in 2024/25;
2) Note that the Government is committed to provide the additional Stopping the Start Funding for a five-year period commencing in 2024/25; and
3) Agree to delegate authority to the Director of Public Health for the expenditure and use of this funding in line with any grant conditions, Derbyshire County Council Adult Social Care and Health Scheme of Delegation, Derbyshire County Council financial regulations and Public Contract Regulations (2015) and other procedures which may include competitive tendering, necessary to comply with Council requirements.
