This residential street, which also accommodates an Infant
School of almost 350 children aged 3 to 7 years, is used by drivers
to cut through from Storforth Lane to Hasland Road and vice versa.
At peak times this regularly causes the street to come to a
complete standstill with traffic backing up onto Hasland Road
and/or Storforth Lane. The street is used as a short cut by drivers
of lorries and HGV's as well as cars, creating a difficult and
dangerous situation for anyone trying to
cross the street. The street was not designed for either a high
volume of traffic or the use of larger vehicles.
