The purpose of this report is to allow a trial of town wide 20 mph limits as part of a green town initiative in the towns of Buxton and Long Eaton.
Cabinet is asked to consider:
a) Authorising the trial of town wide 20 mph limits in the towns of Buxton (commencing 2022) and Long Eaton (commencing 2023) subject to local views, including agreement in principle being reached with the Borough Councils of High Peak and Erewash respectively.
b) Carrying out before and after monitoring of air quality, the use of more sustainable forms of transport, traffic speeds, transportation behavioural patterns and its environmental impacts upon the residents and the businesses in the towns.
