That the Cabinet Member for Health and Communities approves the following contributions:

 

a)    £10,000 for the delivery of support to victims of Modern Slavery prior to entering the National Referral Mechanism. 

b)    £10,000 for 2023-24 and 2024-25 for the delivery of a Health Trainer service to support offenders under probation supervision.

c)    £20,000 for the delivery of a specialist service to engage with those with lived experience of domestic abuse to ensure victims voices inform service development and delivery.

d)    £18,000 to enable domestic abuse services providing emergency accommodation to meet the new requirement to hold Ofsted registration.

e)    £5,000 for 2023-24 and 2024-25 for the delivery of a high-harm domestic abuse perpetrator scheme.

f)      £34,000 for 2023/24 towards the Safer Derbyshire Research and Information Team

g)    £34,000 for 2023/24 towards the administration costs of the MARAC process.

h)    A total of £62,824 for 2023/24 towards the salaries of eight Derbyshiredistrict and borough based Community Safety Officers.

i)      £8,000 for 2023-24 and 2024-25 to support delivery of a whole system approach for women and girls in the criminal justice system.

j)      £15,000 for the delivery of a Community Clean Up’s project

k)    £46,000 for 2023/24 to support an expansion of the short-term accommodation project for victims of domestic abuse.

l)      £20,000 for the delivery of a target hardening project to enable victims of domestic abuse to remain in their own homes.

Jackie Wardle, Improvement and Scrutiny Officer updated the Committee of work recently undertaken.

 

Work had continued with the South Yorkshire and Manchester joint health committees.  Both committees had received their joint forward plans, which would be presented at the next meeting of this committee.

 

The Committee’s proposed work programme for 24 July was summarised:

 

·         Maternity Services Update (provisional);

·         Access GP to Services Update (provisional);

·         Financial Recovery Plan;

·         NHS Response to the Joint Forward Plan; and

·         East Midlands Ambulance Service.

 

It was hoped that the new Director of Operations at Derbyshire Community Health Service, Dean Wallace would attend the meeting on 25 September 2023.

2)   Approve the investment of £330,000 for the first six months within this financial year and £660,000 for the following financial year from the Supporting Families Reserve, enabling the Edge of Care and Prevention model to be recruited to and implemented from October 2023; and

 

3)   Support the development of the service and keep oversight of the impact through an interim report, which will be provided to Cabinet in the form of the first full-year evaluation.
