Decision details

That the Cabinet Member:

1)   Approves the Fire Mitigation Programme 2022-2023.

2)   Approves all goods, works and services required to undertake the identified projects within the Fire Mitigation Programme 2022-2023which will be procured and awarded in accordance with the Council’s Financial Regulations.

3)   Approves the procurement of the projects identified in appendix 2 which are included in the Councils forward plan in-line with the Council’s Financial Regulations.

4)   Notes that some contracts award will be approved in accordance with the Councils Departmental Scheme of Delegation.

Approves the Fire Mitigation Programme 2022-2023 and seeks approval from Cabinet to obtain permission to procure the projects identified in appendix 2.

Failure to undertake Fire Mitigation works would lead to non-compliant building stock and present a risk to staff and public using the buildings as identified with in Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

These works will protect lives and building stock Assets in the event of fire along with preventing finical loss and loss of service through fire.

Not to undertake the FMP would result in potential loss of building stock as the result of spread of fires.

Not to undertake FMP would leave staff and members of the public at risk in the event of fire within Derbyshire County Councils building portfolio.
