Purpose:

The purpose of this report is to seek approval from the Cabinet Member for Health and Communities for grant awards to Erewash Voluntary Action to support the delivery of the Erewash Health and Wellbeing Partnership priorities of improving health and wellbeing outcomes, and reducing health inequalities in Erewash.

Decision:

"That the Cabinet Member for Health and Communities:

a) Approve a grant award of £99,013 for Erewash Voluntary Action to act as fund holder for the 2021-22 Public Health Locality Programme investment allocation to the Erewash Health and Wellbeing Partnership.
b) Approve a grant award of £22,857 for Erewash Voluntary Action to lead the Connect Erewash Steering Group and deliver on the associated social connectedness action plan on behalf of the Erewash Health and Wellbeing Partnership.
c) Approve a grant award of £0.1m for Erewash Voluntary Action to act as fund holder for the children and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing locality and placed-based approach investment for 2021-22 and 2022-23 on behalf of the Erewash Health and Wellbeing Partnership and the Erewash Locality Children’s Partnership"

Cabinet Member approval is required for grant awards to external organisations.

Alternative options considered:

Do nothing: This option is not considered appropriate as this could hinder progress on the delivery of a number of the key priorities of the Erewash Health and Wellbeing Partnership, which aim to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes, and to reduce health inequalities in Erewash, and, Erewash Health and Wellbeing Partnerships financial governance arrangements would continue to differ from the other districts and boroughs.
