Councillor Trevor Ainsworth

Personal information

I joined the Derbyshire Police Cadets at 16 years of age having taken my O Levels at Henry Cavendish Comprehensive School, Derby. I served with the Constabulary for 32 years. During this time I played field hockey and still do so occasionally now. I have now been involved in Scouting and still attend PEAK camps every 5 years as part of the organising team and I assist whenever I can.

I have been married for 35 years to Jennifer and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

I enjoy walking and I am a member of a local walking group.

Reasons for becoming a Councillor

I see becoming a Councillor as a continuation of my past career. As a Police Officer I spent my time helping people who contacted the service either directly or I signposted them to a better placed service to deliver the help they required. I am still doing this now as a Councillor.
