Personal information
Since 2003 I have been a District Councillor and I was elected to the County Council in May 2017, for the same Ward area. I am now retired from a family farming business partnership and this has enabled me to spend more time pursuing my equestrian sporting hobby of polo.
I was educated at Barrow-on-Trent Primary School before moving to William Howitt Junior School in Codnor. After this I moved to the newly opened Langley Mill Junior School where I achieved my proudest moment of becoming the very first school Prefect. Following this I went on to Heanor Gate Comprehensive School, before attending Broomfield Agricultural College to further my education.
Reasons for becoming a Councillor
I was introduced to politics in Nottingham by the High Sherriff, becoming the Chairman of Robin Hood ward for the Conservatives. I was then invited to stand in my home ward in South Derbyshire as a District Councillor covering the Aston Division. I have been there ever since, and after being elected to the County Council I am now a dual-hatted Member.
Contact details
I may be contacted 24/7 by email on both by County Council and District Council network as I have a hearing disability. I usually respond very quickly on the same day.
