Personal information
My career has been mostly in two industries, the Textiles industry and Motor Trade. I started on the ground floor and progressed to Director Level in both industries, having managed and owned companies with multi-million pound turnover.
My hobbies and interests are in watching football and most other sports, along with socialising with family and friends and trying to maintain a level of personal fitness / body flexibility.
Reasons for becoming a Councillor
I have always been community minded and I have done charity work both here in Erewash and in India too. I think it is for this reason I was approached to stand as a Borough Councillor in Erewash in November 2006. I was first elected in May 2007 as an Erewash Borough Councillor and I have stood from then to present. I was also elected to Derbyshire County Council in May 2017 to represent the Sawley Divison.
