The Council’s Role in Decarbonising Derbyshire’s Schools

To provide the Improvement and Scrutiny Committee for Climate Change, Biodiversity and Carbon Reduction with information on:
1.The carbon impact of Derbyshire’s schools, current UK Government policy and previous Council recommendations and activities related to on schools and net zero.
2.The progress that schools and relevant Council service areas are making in to reduce their carbon impact.
3.Proposed recommendations for further action the Council could take on school buildings and grounds, school travel, and related to engagement and behaviour change to help decarbonise schools and to seek support from the Improvement and Scrutiny Committee for Climate Change, Biodiversity and Carbon Reduction for these recommendations.
