This petition is from residents of Kirkham Lane and other neighbours to express our increasing urgent and serious safety concerns regarding the state of the road surface along Kirkham Lane.
It has deteriorated beyond an acceptable level. There are two sections along the right-side that are structurally unsafe the edge is cracking and beginning to fall away into the adjoining field.
The whole lane is adopted, yet the final quarter towards Fairfield Farm and other residences is unmade and the surface is washing away. There are numerous potholes and sunken areas that are 8 inches below the original road level, this is causing vehicles to ground out and will no doubt soon cause serious damage. These have been reported along with potholes numerous times, (8 personally) and two remain open and unactioned - 597065264-18/3/24; 504563493-3/4/23 refer.
There are also concerns regarding horses and riders that use this lane and pedestrians, all are likely to trip on this poor surface.
