The purpose of the report is to provide the Cabinet Member with an update in relation to those actions which were the subject of Officer’s Decisions utilising emergency decision making powers as detailed in the constitution and to provide assurance in relation to the reviews which have been undertaken.

The Cabinet Member for Adult Care note the latest position following the review of decisions made under urgent delegated powers arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

To seek approval to implement the urgent actions required to mitigate the acute staffing shortages currently being experienced across Adult Home Care services sector (both Direct Care and Private Voluntary and Independent (“PVI”) arising from the new Covid 19 variant

To provide the Cabinet Member with an update of progress and performance against relevant Council Plan priorities and the revenue budget position of the Clean Growth and Regeneration portfolio for 2021-22 up to the end of September 2021 (Quarter 2).

That the Cabinet Member:

a) Notes the strong performance and budget management position outlined in this report.

b) Considers whether there are any further actions that should be undertaken to enhance performance levels beyond the targets currently set.

To seek Cabinet Member approval for the award of a total of £184,204 to five organisations from the Recovery from Alcohol and Drug Dependence Grant, noting the full break down of allocations as outlined in the financial considerations section.

That the Cabinet Member:
Approves the award of funding to the five organisations outlined in this report, who meet the Recovery from Alcohol and Drug dependence Grant funding criteria, noting the full break down of allocations as outlined in the financial considerations section, to provide recovery activities in Derbyshire in 2022 and 2023.

To provide an update on organisations supported through the Public Health Covid-19 Community Response Fund.

That the Cabinet Member:
a)Notes the allocation of the Public Health Covid-19 Community Response Fund to date, which totals £37,727.93;
b)Agrees to continue to delegate authority to the Director of Public Health to approve awards of no more than £2,000 to individual organisations; and
c)Agrees to receive details of further recipient organisations on a quarterly basis.

To seek the Cabinet Member’s approval to accept funding from the Derby City Council Transforming Cities Fund to pay for upgrades to bus stop infrastructure and to include this work in the future capital infrastructure programme.
