Decision details

Support for the cost of living in Derbyshire through warm spaces grant funding (2)

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Health and Communities

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

Seek Cabinet Member approval to utilise contain outbreak management funding to support voluntary and community sector (VCS) provision for vulnerable residents and their families affected by the current challenges associated with the cost of living

Decision:

To approve the award of £0.100m from the Contain Outbreak Management Fund to support VCS organisations looking to provide warm spaces through the Council’s corporate grants framework, ringfenced awards for small grants for up to £1,000 each.

Reasons for the decision:

To put in place the budget and resources required to enable VCS and other partners to support Derbyshire residents, by responding to current cost of living pressures through a series of Warm Spaces and other locally developed cost of living interventions.

Alternative options considered:

Do Nothing – Risk that vulnerable residents without alternative options will go cold this winter.
