Decision details

Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan Consultation

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Infrastructure and Environment

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To seek Cabinet Member approval for the publication of a revised consultation draft of the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan which has been prepared by the four transport authorities within the Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) area.

Decision:

That the Cabinet Member notes the revisions to the draft LCWIP document as outlined in paragraphs 4.3 and 4.4 and agrees to proceed with the public consultation for the D2N2 (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire) Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.

Reasons for the decision:

This will enable the public engagement exercise to commence as planned.

Alternative options considered:

Do nothing – if the latest consultation draft is not approved, this will further delay the public engagement exercise which is essential in helping to finalise the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan for the D2N2 area. This is seen by Government as a vital document to have in place and will be particularly influential when making bids to the Department for Transport’s Active Travel Fund.
