Purpose:
To consider a proposal to provide a Reuse Shop
at the Waterswallows (Buxton) Household Waste Recycling Centre
(HWRC).
Decision:
That the Cabinet Member:
a)Approves the proposal for the provision of a Reuse Shop at the
Waterswallows Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Reasons for the decision:
The proposal presents a zero-cost risk to the
Council, increases the movement of materials up the waste hierarchy
and potentially provides employment opportunities.
Alternative options considered:
6.1There are two potential alternative
options:
•Do nothing and maintain the current situation, e.g. no Reuse
Shop at Waterswallows HWRC.
•The provision and operation of a Reuse Shop by the
Council.
