To seek Cabinet Member approval to adopt the Council's Modern Slavery Statement 2023/24

That the Cabinet Member for Health and Communities approves the Council’s Modern Slavery Statement for 2023-24 as set out in the report.

Reasons for the decision:

To ensure the Council is compliant with the Home Office request to publish its Modern Slavery Transparency Statement for the previous financial year 2023-24.

Alternative options considered:

 Alternative Option 1 - The Council could decide not to publish its Modern Slavery Statement 2023-24. However, the Home Office is encouraging all Public Bodies in England and Wales with a budget of £36m or more to proactively publish their Modern Slavery Statement.  The Home Office have suggested that they will be seeking to make this requirement mandatory in the near future.
